Experience the scenic Minho region, famous for its Vinho Verde wine, and visit the historic cities of Guimarães and Braga to explore their architectural heritage. Your first stop is Guimarães, considered the birthplace of Portugal. Its city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Visit Guimarães Castle, dating from the 10th century, and learn about the early days of Portuguese history. Admire the Dukes of Bragança Palace and the distinctive medieval buildings, streets, and squares.
Continue to Braga, a city with Roman origins and a significant Christian heritage. Enjoy a traditional lunch paired with Vinho Verde wine. After lunch, visit Braga’s main landmarks, including the 11th-century Cathedral, Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, and the Sameiro Sanctuary. The tour returns to Porto around 5pm.
