Description
Step into a welcoming artist studio in Porto and discover one of Portugal’s most iconic art forms: the azulejo tile. After a short introduction, you’ll learn about the history of Portuguese tiles, their traditional patterns, and how they shape local architecture.
Then it’s time to paint. You’ll receive your own ceramic tile and be guided through the process using traditional ceramic glazes and studio tools. You can follow a classic design (stencils are available) or create your own, so it’s easy and enjoyable even if you’ve never painted before.
Work at your own pace in a relaxed indoor setting, with the artist on hand to help with technique and finishing details. After the workshop, your tile stays in the studio to be kiln-fired, giving it the durable, glossy finish typical of traditional Portuguese tiles.
Your finished tile will be ready for pickup in approximately 5 business days. If you’re traveling, shipping can be arranged for an additional fee.
