As Porto natives, we've learned all the secrets of Portuguese cuisine from our families. We know exactly how to prepare dishes in the most traditional way, and where the best places are to eat them. We want to share the best flavors of the city with you, escaping the touristy places and introducing you to our favorite places—restaurants, bars, and taverns we've visited since we were children. Our goal is to allow you to experience history through food in an authentic and relaxed way! What we'll do: Escape the touristy gastronomic clichés and enjoy authentic Portuguese food! Join us and enjoy some of the culinary wonders of Porto and northern Portugal. In addition to tasting the best local 'petiscos' (tapas) and drinks, you'll also learn about the history behind the food. This is a walking tour, so please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Where we'll be Snacks may change depending on restaurant availability, but we generally feature our typical caldo verde (green broth), bifanas, sardines, cod, alheira (a typical sausage), and a Portuguese pastry for dessert. For drinks, you'll try the famous vino verde and from other regions, local beer, and coffee.
