Description
The rafting experience on the Paiva River offers an adventurous mix of adrenaline, teamwork, and natural beauty. The river is close to the famous Paiva Walkways and the 516 Arouca Bridge. This wild river features crystal-clear waters and numerous rapids, making it ideal for an active outdoor challenge.
Set in a mountainous region near Porto, the Paiva River runs through deep valleys flanked by native forests and high cliffs, creating a dynamic environment for rafting.
The Adventure Tour
Your tour begins at Espiunca River Beach near the start of the Paiva Walkways, where you will meet your certified Activity Guide. After a safety briefing and equipment fitting, you will be transported in a 4x4 vehicle to Vau River Beach, the rafting launch point.
The rafting route covers several rapids offering moments of excitement, relaxation, and group interaction. The journey tests your skills and encourages collaboration with your fellow rafters.
After the activity, the tour concludes back in Espiunca. Here you can unwind on a scenic river beach, enjoy a cold drink and snack at the panoramic riverside terrace bar, or take a swim in the clear waters. A hot shower is available in the village for your convenience.
If you select the lunch option, a typical Portuguese meal is served including a board of local charcuterie and cheese (or cheese only if preferred), along with your choice of drink, including wine. You may choose from an Arouquesa steak sandwich, Arouquesa beef hamburger, veggie burger, or tuna sandwich, all accompanied by crispy french fries.

For the best experience, wear swimwear, bring suitable sports shoes that can get wet, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Mornings and early afternoons offer the best light and river conditions for rafting. Book in advance, especially during summer months.
