Decorate a handmade ceramic frame inspired by contemporary interior design and Mediterranean aesthetics. Your finished piece can serve as a picture frame, mirror, or wall organizer and is intended as a lasting home décor item rather than a typical travel souvenir.
The workshop takes place in a working artist studio and gallery, surrounded by original paintings, ceramic jewelry, and contemporary ceramic objects. Led by a professional visual artist, you select from a collection of sculptural ceramic frames, each hand-built in the studio. Every frame is unique, allowing you to customize an original artwork.
Some frames are purely decorative, while others include sculptural ceramic knobs for hanging jewelry or keys. You can add a photograph, use a mirror insert, or display the frame as a statement piece. Photos can be printed directly from your phone during the workshop to fit your frame before you leave.
Using vibrant colors, personalize your piece with Portuguese symbols such as Viana hearts, sardines, swallows, olives, port wine, lemons, oranges, and botanical motifs, or create a bold abstract design inspired by Mediterranean ceramic art.
You can choose between two finishing options: an acrylic finish sealed with a glossy varnish ready to take home immediately, or a traditional ceramic glaze fired in a kiln. The kiln-fired pieces are available for collection a few days later or shipped to your home (shipping fee not included).
