These can include the Dom Luis Bridge, a symbol of Porto, which was constructed in the 19th century, crossing the river of Rio Douro and connecting the City of Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia. Visit the Clérigos Church, a magnificent tower-shaped church in the center of the town, dating back to the 18th century. It was designed by Nicolau Nasoni, an architect from Italy. The church is an example of the Baroque style. See the Porto Cathedral, the most significant church in the city, which is considered a national monument.
