Description

In Portugal, when something looks too good but with little usage, we say “It looks nice, but only for tourists”. This, unfortunately, is what is happening to the center of Porto. The locals have left, opening space for a reality that isn’t ours. The center’s outskirts is quickly shifting into a ghost town. The tour I’m offering, might not be the prettiest one but it is, without a doubt, the most authentic! We will walk through endless history in the Paranhos parish. We will start by visiting the area of Carvalhido, which is intrinsically synced with the history of freedom of the country. After, we will get lost in the parish's little streets contemplating the history of tiles and getting some insight into the local life. This adventure will have a lunch break in a local 'tasca' and traditional food will be served. In here, we will talk about Portuguese cuisine while enjoying a good glass of wine. The last part of our tour will take place in Arca d'água, one of the most important parks of the city, and crucial for its development. Everything you heard will have its conclusion in this lost park. Filled with secrets and beauty, we will demystify every of its corners.
