Description

Embark on a day trip from Porto to the Torre plateau, the highest point in mainland Portugal. Depart from Porto and head to the Torre plateau, the highest point in the central massif of the Estrela Mountains. Admire the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape from the viewpoint of Miradoura da Varandah das Carqueijas. Continue to the viewpoint of Miradouro de Vale glacier and take in the views of the glacial valleys carved by ancient ice. Stop in Seia, a lovely town in the northwest of the Estrela ranges. Visit the bread museum or buy local products such as the famous local cheese or the wines, the medronho brandy, and the mountain gin.
